Done Deal: Just In Heat Report: Three-year, $58.6 million agreement agreed upon between Clippers and C Ivica Zubac

ESPN reported on Friday that centre Ivica Zubac and the Los Angeles Clippers have reached an agreement on a three-year, $58.6 million deal. Zubac is guaranteed $70 million for the following four years as a result of the deal. During the previous season, the seasoned centre scored 11.7 points on 64.9 percent shooting from the field, setting a career high. In 68 games, he also averaged 9.2 rebounds and 1.2 blocks.

The Clippers are in the midst of a makeover after nine-time All-Star guard Paul George signed a four-year, $212 million contract to join the Philadelphia 76ers. The Clippers will open the upcoming season at their new home, the Intuit Dome. Russell Westbrook, an experienced guard, was also traded to the Utah Jazz last month as part of a sign-and-trade deal from Los Angeles. After being selected by the Los Angeles Lakers with the 32nd pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, Zubac, 27, played his first two and a half seasons with them. In 2019, the Lakers acquired centre Mike Muscala from the Clippers by trading forward Michael Beasley and Zubac. Zubac, who will begin his tenth season, has played in 504 games (371 starts) and averaged 9.2 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 1.0 blocks. Continue read
