Breaking: Just In Miami Hurricanes LB Commitment Trending Towards Auburn Tigers Due To.

The Auburn Tigers haven’t let up on the recruiting road, even though their season opener at Jordan-Hare Stadium versus Alabama A&M is scheduled for later today. Some of the best players in the nation are on Auburn’s first-week opponent list, and head coach Hugh Freeze and staff will be hoping to capitalise.

There will be notable flip targets in attendance, including Deuce Knight, the No. 5 quarterback in the class of 2025, and Na’eem Offord, an outstanding cornerback from Birmingham and the No. 6 player nationally. Elijah Melendez, a 4-star linebacker who decommitted from Miami on Saturday, is another candidate Auburn is working hard to recruit. Melendez is scheduled to visit Auburn this weekend.

247Sports’ Christian Clemente and and Tom Loy have each put in a crystal ball for Melendez to commit to Auburn with a level of confidence at six.

According to Rivals, Melendez is the No. 4 linebacker in the nation and the No. 92 prospect overall, regardless of position. Melendez has offers from Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Texas A&M in addition to Auburn and Miami. Steve Wiltfong of On3 logged another expert forecast for Melendez to choose Auburn. Melendez has until the end of the weekend to make his announcement.

Melendez was formerly committed to Miami, but now attends Osceola High School in Kissimmee, Florida, which is 3.5 hours north of Miami. It takes little less than seven hours to get from Kissimmee to Auburn. The fact that Melendez chose to watch Auburn play Alabama A&M instead of the Gators and Hurricanes on Saturday in Gainesville is telling.
