Breaking: Just In Indiana Fever Officially Waived Another Top Experienced Fan Favorite Superstar And Activate Another Star

**Indiana Fever Activate Damiris Dantas’ Contract and Waive Rookie Celeste Taylor**

The Indiana Fever have activated the contract of forward Damiris Dantas, who will make her debut after missing nearly half the season. Dantas, who signed a two-year guaranteed contract with the Fever during the offseason, had been sidelined due to a knee injury. Her contract was activated on Tuesday afternoon.

In a corresponding roster move, the Fever waived guard Celeste Taylor, who was a standout at Ohio State and the 15th overall pick in the 2024 WNBA draft. Taylor, recognized as the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year, leaves the team, making Caitlin Clark the only rookie remaining on the Fever’s roster this season.

Dantas, a Brazilian native, faced several delays in joining the team, including visa issues and a death in her family. She arrived during the second week of training camp with a knee injury and did not participate in any of the team’s preseason activities. The injury, not sustained while with Indiana, allowed the Fever to temporarily suspend her contract, keeping 13 players on the roster during her recovery.

Currently, Indiana has a balanced roster of six guards and six forwards. It remains to be seen how Dantas will fit into the Fever’s rotation, which includes starters Aliyah Boston and NaLyssa Smith, with Temi Fagbenle nearing full strength and Katie Lou Samuelson coming off the bench.
