Mansfield boss impress with club’s ‘great’ decision ahead of clash with Forest Green Rovers

Mansfield Town’s manager, Nigel Clough, has expressed his approval of the club’s decision to allow home supporters access to the North Stand for their upcoming match against  Forest Green Rovers. This move will provide more Stags’ supporters the opportunity to be inside One Call Stadium. The demand for home tickets has been steadily increasing, especially after their recent 4-1 victory in the Nottinghamshire Derby at Meadow Lane, extending their unbeaten streak to 17 matches.

Nigel Clough, speaking at a news conference on iFollow Stags, shared his enthusiasm for the decision. He mentioned the desire for home supporters to be situated behind both goals, emphasizing the incredible atmosphere generated by the main stand. He also noted the importance of drawing larger crowds to witness their style of play.

Reflecting on the dominant win against Notts County over the weekend, Nigel Clough praised the team’s performance. Despite having less possession in the game, they managed to make the most of their opportunities with 21 shots, scoring four goals, while also limiting Notts County’s chances.

Mansfield Town remains the only unbeaten team in England across all competitions, a feat that Nigel Clough considers a significant achievement. He also highlighted the importance of draws in maintaining this unbeaten run.

However, the only downside from the recent match was Baily Cargill’s fifth booking of the season, resulting in his suspension for the upcoming game.

Mansfield Town is set to face Derby County in the Central League Cup, with Nigel mentioning that several first-team players may feature to keep them in good form.

On the injury front, Nigel provided updates on the progress of Rhys Oates and Stephen McLaughlin, indicating that they may be ready to play in the EFL Trophy game against Everton on 7th November.

Regarding the upcoming match against Forest Green, Nigel acknowledged the quality of their opponents, highlighting the presence of Troy Deeney as a significant threat.

In the FA Cup first round, Mansfield Town has been drawn at home to Wrexham, which Nigel Clough views as a positive outcome, especially considering their recent exciting encounter with Wrexham.

Overall, it’s an exciting period for Mansfield Town, with several important matches and competitions on the horizon. Supporters are encouraged to purchase tickets for the match against Forest Green, including seats in the North Stand, through the official website.
