Breaking: Just In Bruins Officially Placed Top Talented Fans Favorite Goalies On Waivers Due To

Due to NHL teams’ deadline of 5 p.m. to finalise their rosters, the waiver wire was crowded on Monday. On Sunday, the Bruins placed a number of players on waivers, including Jiri Patera and goalkeeper Brandon Bussi, the former of whom cleared. Bussi will now start the season in the AHL after being transferred to Providence. During the latter part of training camp, the rookie goalie performed admirably and appeared to be Joonas Korpisalo’s backup. Jeremy Swayman’s eight-year contract deal, however, forced Bussi out of the starting lineup.

The Vancouver Canucks traded Patera to Boston last week. He practiced once with the squad and didn’t see any preseason action. However, Patera will be going back to Vancouver as the Canucks claimed him off of Boston’s waiver wire. The Canucks signed Patera to a two-way, two-year contract in July. The Bruins still need to make some trades in order to go below the NHL’s 23-man roster cap. They have to make a decision regarding Tyler Johnson, who has a professional tryout deal. After practice on Monday, they have one player over that cap.

It’s unclear what the Bruins will do. Matt Poitras is day-to-day with an undisclosed injury and won’t play in Tuesday’s season opener against the Florida Panthers. Coach Jim Montgomery didn’t indicate whether injured reserve was an option for the forward.
