Official SEC News: Just In Top Highly Rated 4-Star SEC LB Officially Commits To Florida State Seminoles Over Gators And Miami….

Florida State Seminoles football added a significant piece to their 2026 recruiting class, #Tribe26, as blue-chip linebacker Izayia Williams announced his commitment to FSU on Wednesday evening. This news provided a welcome boost for the program following a difficult start to the season.

Williams, standing 6’1 and weighing 205 pounds, currently plays at Tavares High School in Leesburg, Florida. He selected FSU over other in-state powerhouses, the Florida Gators and Miami Hurricanes, after attending the Seminoles’ game against Boston College on Labor Day. Previously committed to Syracuse, Williams is now one of the top-rated recruits in Florida State’s 2026 class.

In the 247Sports Composite rankings, Williams holds a four-star rating with an impressive overall score of 96. He is considered the 96th best player in his class nationwide, the 7th best linebacker, and the 16th best player in Florida. His recruitment was highly competitive, with additional offers from major programs such as Ole Miss and Michigan. Ultimately, Williams felt that Florida State was the best fit for his talents and future development.

With Williams’ commitment, Florida State continues to build a strong recruiting foundation for the future. He becomes the sixth member of the #Tribe26 class, joining quarterback Brady Smigiel, wide receivers Darryon Williams and Efrem White, and safeties Daryll Bell III and Tedarius Hughes. This class is shaping up to be a well-rounded group, addressing key positions across the board.

Landing a prospect like Williams is crucial for the Seminoles, especially as they look to strengthen their defense in the coming years. His size, athleticism, and football IQ make him a valuable addition to FSU’s linebacker corps. Williams is expected to bring speed and playmaking ability, which could allow him to make an early impact when he arrives in Tallahassee.

As Florida State continues to navigate the challenges of the 2024 season, securing commitments from talented recruits like Williams is a positive sign for the program’s future. Mike Norvell and his staff are working to build a team capable of competing at the highest level, and Williams’ decision to join the Seminoles is another step in the right direction.
