Sad News: Tigers Fans Favorite Jacobian Guillory Defensive Tackle Player Announce His Departure Due To……

During Saturday night’s home opener against Nicholls State, LSU lost a valuable veteran defender early on, four days after running back John Emery suffered a ruptured left ACL during practice. On the second play of Nicholls’ second possession in the first quarter, senior defensive tackle Jacobian Guillory was injured in the lower right leg. Wheelchair transport was used to remove Guillory from the pitch after he was assisted to the sidelines and equipped with a walking boot.

After the game, LSU coach Brian Kelly provided no updates on Guillory, stating only that imaging tests will be performed to ascertain the precise severity of the injury. Guillory is a fifth-year graduate student. During his postgame press conference, Kelly stated, “I haven’t received a report yet.” “I’m sure they’re going to have some imaging and make sure they get all the information before we make any decisions on what it was exactly.”

In the second quarter, LSU got another scare when wide receiver Kyren Lacy caught a pass from Garrett Nussmeier and tried to hurdle Nicholls cornerback Malik Woodery at the goal line.

Lacy made it to the end zone for a 32-yard touchdown, but landed squarely on his back when he was flipped flipped up by Woodery.

After being checked by trainers, Lacy left the field under his own power. He then returned on the Tigers’ next possession although he appeared to be a bit gimpy.

However, he managed to catch 6- and 7-yard touchdowns in the third quarter and finished the game with five receptions for 65 yards and three scores.

The injury to Guillory appeared to be the most significant of the night.

Nussmeier left late in the second quarter with a cramp in his left leg, but he returned for the Tiger’s first possession of the second half and hit on 27 of 37 passes for 302 yards and six TDs.
