The Green Bay Packers have added offensive lineman **** to their practice squad after losing **Lecitus Smith** to the New England Patriots. Smith was signed to the Patriots’ 53-man roster, leaving the Packers with an open spot and only one offensive lineman on their 17-man practice squad.
Rolland, who initially signed as an undrafted free agent with the Minnesota Vikings this spring, was waived during roster cutdowns. A native of the Twin Cities area, Rolland stands 6’6” and began his college football career at Harvard, where he played four seasons in the Ivy League.
After graduating, he transferred to North Carolina, where he started all 26 games over two seasons for the Tar Heels. Rolland also attracted attention from the UFL, being selected by the Arlington Renegades as an eighth-round pick in the 2024 college draft.
The Packers have been actively working out offensive linemen throughout the season, including six just last Tuesday. Rolland had a workout with Green Bay three weeks ago and made enough of an impression to earn a spot on the practice squad. He joins rookie **Donovan Smith** as one of the offensive linemen on the squad.
With Rolland’s addition, the Packers now have at least one practice squad player for every position, and the offensive line, receiver, and cornerback positions each have multiple players. This move ensures depth and versatility as the team continues through the season.
