The New Orleans Saints have released tight end Lucas Rader from their injured reserve list following an injury settlement, according to Monday’s NFL transaction report.
Rader, who previously played for Youngstown State, was initially placed on injured reserve in late August due to an undisclosed injury, meaning he was expected to miss the entire 2024 season. However, by agreeing to an injury settlement with the Saints, he now has the opportunity to explore options with other teams once he has fully recovered.
The settlement effectively ends his time on the Saints’ injured reserve list, freeing both him and the team from further obligations. Once cleared medically, Rader will be able to pursue new opportunities and potentially sign with another NFL team.
This move gives Rader a chance to continue his professional career without being sidelined for the entire year, which would have been the case had he remained on injured reserve.
