Official MLB News: Toronto Blue Jays Confirm Another Major Setbacks As Top Experienced Superstar Suffer Season Ending Injury

The Toronto Blue Jays have placed outfielder Daulton Varsho on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to September 14, due to a right shoulder strain. Varsho, 28, has been sidelined since last Wednesday because of the injury, and after several days without improvement, the team decided to move him to the injured list.

Varsho is eligible to return to the active roster by September 24, but with only 12 games left in the regular season, it’s possible he may not see any more action this year. If his season is indeed over, Varsho will finish 2024 with a stat line that includes 18 home runs, 10 stolen bases, 58 RBIs, 73 runs, and a .214/.293/.407 slash line across 136 games.

His performance this year, while solid in some areas, has been inconsistent offensively, particularly in terms of his batting average and on-base percentage. Despite these struggles, Varsho has provided value to the Blue Jays with his power, speed, and defensive versatility in the outfield. However, the injury adds a disappointing end to a season where Varsho’s contributions have been vital for the team’s playoff push.

Toronto will now have to make adjustments in their lineup as they finish the regular season without one of their key outfielders.
