Done Deal: Vancouver Canucks Officially Announce The Signing Of Another Top Talented And Well Experienced Star.

Forward Carson Focht has agreed to terms on an ECHL Standard Player Contract for the 2024–25 season, according to an announcement made by the Orlando Solar Bears. The Vancouver Canucks selected Focht, a native of Regina, Saskatchewan, with the 133rd overall choice in the fifth round of the 2019 NHL Draft. Focht’s skill to shoot the puck attracted notice as a draft prospect; he was especially good at one-timing from the right side on power plays. Focht gained an additional useful skill to his repertoire when he was able to jump in quickly to kill penalties.

He was sent to the AHL in February 2024 and participated in two Professional Tryout (PTO) games with the Henderson Silver Knights. He had previously spent a portion of two seasons playing in the AHL with the Abbotsford Canucks, playing in 44 games and tallying 12 points (5 goals, 7 assists). This was not his first time in the AHL. He has participated in 74 AHL games with Utica, Abbotsford, and Henderson over the course of four seasons, scoring nine goals and fifteen assists for a total of 24 points.

He will now play his fifth professional season with the Solar Bears. He participated in 43 games with the Tulsa Oilers in the previous campaign, scoring 22 points (8 goals and 14 assists). The 6-foot-1, 181-pound forward has participated in 92 ECHL games for three different teams—Kalamazoo, Florida, and Tulsa—in total. In that time, the forward has accumulated 46 points (14 goals, 32 assists).
