Michael Appleton has given an update on the team’s status before their upcoming clash with Reading at The Valley. The Head Coach reported that Terell Thomas, James Abankwah, Michael Hector, and Karoy Anderson have returned from their international duties without any injuries. Notably, Karoy Anderson made his senior debut for Jamaica, and Appleton expressed his delight, saying, “It was gratifying to see the players returning from international duty in good health.”
Appleton also acknowledged Karoy’s progress and the positive influence of Michael Hector, an experienced player. He mentioned that Karoy had faced tough competition due to the strong performances of other players but emphasized the importance of having a deep and competitive squad.
The Coach provided an update on Harry Isted, who is expected to be out for an extended period. He praised Sam Walker, who joined the team on a short-term deal until January to bolster the goalkeeping department, highlighting his excellent performance in training.
Regarding Panutche Camará, who has returned to group training at Sparrows Lane, Appleton indicated that Saturday’s match might come too soon for him. He acknowledged Panutche’s versatility and adaptability as an athlete and expressed confidence in his capabilities.
Appleton also noted his previous encounters with Panutche when managing against him and mentioned being impressed with his abilities during their closer observation.
