Done Deal: Just In Packers Officially Announce The Signing Of Another Top Talented Well Experienced Superstars player To The Practice Squad.

The Green Bay Packers have kicked off their 2024 season with a mixed bag of results, posting a 2-1 record that shows both promise and room for improvement.

While there’s plenty to be excited about, one position group has raised some eyebrows: the tight ends.

The Packers are counting on inexperienced players to step up; Luke Musgrave and Tucker Kraft, two second-year players, have shown glimpses of promise. But in pivotal times, their inexperience can prove to be a hindrance, possibly preventing the offence from scoring when it counts most. The Packers, however, are not doing nothing. To add more dimension, they have reintroduced a well-known face. Messiah Swinson, a tight end, has been re-signed by Green Bay to their practice squad, according to Aaron Wilson of KPRC2.

Swinson, a towering 6-foot-7, 259-pound rookie from Arizona State, initially joined the Packers as an undrafted free agent in April.

He briefly made an impact on the Carolina Panthers’ active roster in early September following a spell on their practice squad. His tenure with the Panthers was brief, though, as on Tuesday he was cut without making an appearance in a game. It is hardly shocking that the Packers are interested in Swinson. The offensive concept under head coach Matt LaFleur frequently makes extensive use of several tight end sets. However, thus far this season, this plan has been hindered by injuries and uneven play.

Swinson made a good impact during summer training based on his return. Even if it takes some time, the Packers are obviously aiming to develop this former standout from Arizona State and Missouri. Swinson could add significant depth and possibly even make a contribution in the future with his powerful physique and untapped talent.
