Congratulations: Bills’ Josh Allen Surpasses Lamar Jackson And Win Another Prestigious NFL Award

After a pivotal Week 9 win, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has emerged as the frontrunner for the NFL MVP award, surpassing Baltimore Ravens’ Lamar Jackson, who had held the lead earlier in the season. Allen’s MVP odds currently stand at +290 on Fanduel Sportsbook, just ahead of Jackson at +300, with Kansas City Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes in third at +700.

Stat-wise, Jackson holds an edge, amassing 2,379 passing yards, 20 touchdowns, and only two interceptions, alongside 505 rushing yards and two rushing scores. Allen, by comparison, has recorded 2,001 passing yards, 17 touchdowns, two interceptions, 211 rushing yards, and three rushing touchdowns. However, Allen’s odds have benefited from Buffalo’s challenging schedule and strong Super Bowl prospects. The odds shifted after Allen led the Bills to a thrilling 30-27 victory over the Miami Dolphins, whereas Jackson’s 41-10 performance came against the struggling Denver Broncos.

With the Bills at 7-2 and the Ravens at 6-3, the MVP race remains competitive as the season progresses. Mahomes and the undefeated Chiefs are also contenders, with Mahomes potentially narrowing the gap depending on his Week 9 performance against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Buffalo, riding a four-game winning streak, heads into Week 10 facing the Indianapolis Colts, who are vulnerable to passing offenses, allowing the seventh-most passing yards per game. Allen has led the Bills to over 30 points in three consecutive games, bolstering his MVP case. Buffalo’s only recent loss was a close 23-20 game against the Houston Texans in Week 5.

Meanwhile, the Colts, now 4-5, are on a two-game losing streak after a Week 9 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, their first game since benching last year’s No. 4 overall pick, Anthony Richardson. The Colts have struggled offensively, failing to reach 20 points in four straight games.
