Sad News: DeMeco Ryans Reveals Another Setback As Another Key Starter Misses Practice Ahead Of Sunday Game

The Houston Texans are grappling with a series of injuries as they prepare for a challenging matchup against the Detroit Lions. Despite having high expectations for the season, the Texans have been hindered by several key player absences. Currently standing at 6-3, Houston is heading into a Week 10 game as a 3.5-point underdog to the Lions, who boast a strong 7-1 record and are leading the NFC.

One of the team’s major setbacks is the loss of star wide receiver Stefon Diggs, who is out for the season due to an ACL tear. Additionally, standout receiver Nico Collins, placed on Injured Reserve, has missed four games, and his return this week remains uncertain.

The Texans’ challenges have been further complicated by the injury of defensive end Will Anderson Jr., who missed his second consecutive practice on Thursday. Anderson, the reigning Defensive Player of the Year, has been a crucial asset on Houston’s defensive line. His potential absence would be a significant blow to the Texans’ defense, especially against a formidable Lions offense. Running back Dameon Pierce also missed practice for a second day, adding to the Texans’ injury concerns.

The Texans will closely monitor player statuses ahead of Friday’s final injury report, as Anderson’s and Pierce’s availability will heavily influence Houston’s ability to compete with Detroit’s top-ranked team. The Texans remain hopeful for a strong performance but face an uphill battle as they attempt to keep pace in the AFC playoff race.
