Done Deal:Steve Sarkisian Wins Another Commitment Of Five-Star OT Over Alabama And FSU

The Texas Longhorns are set to host five-star offensive tackle Michael Fasusi, a current Oklahoma Sooners commit, for an official visit this weekend. This visit, coinciding with Texas’ game against the Kentucky Wildcats, adds significant excitement to the Longhorns’ final official visit weekend of the regular season. The news broke Tuesday morning and was quickly confirmed by multiple outlets.

Fasusi, a 6’5”, 295-pound standout from Lewisville, Texas, is returning to Austin for the first time since committing to Oklahoma in August. His initial decision came after considering offers from Texas, Missouri, and Texas A&M. However, the Sooners’ struggles this season have potentially opened the door for Fasusi to reconsider his options.

Oklahoma’s disappointing 5-5 record, including a 1-5 mark in conference play, has raised concerns within the program. The team faces the possibility of missing a bowl game for the first time since 1998. Key issues, such as injuries to wide receivers, inconsistent quarterback play, and underperformance on the offensive line, have created instability. These struggles have already resulted in the firing of co-offensive coordinator Seth Littrell, with offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh also rumored to be on shaky ground.

Fasusi, ranked as the nation’s No. 12 overall prospect and No. 2 offensive tackle in the 2025 class by the 247Sports Composite, has remained in contact with the Longhorns despite his commitment to Oklahoma. Texas offensive line coach Kyle Flood and the Longhorns’ staff have continued their pursuit, emphasizing the opportunity for Fasusi to play a key role in their future plans.

The Longhorns currently have five offensive line commits in their 2025 recruiting class, but only one, Georgia’s Nick Brooks, holds a consensus four-star rating. With three or four starters potentially departing after this season, Texas is aiming to bolster its offensive line talent under Flood’s guidance.

Fasusi’s visit marks a pivotal moment in his recruitment and highlights Texas’ efforts to secure one of the nation’s top prospects. The outcome could significantly impact both programs as the Longhorns look to strengthen their offensive line while the Sooners attempt to stabilize a challenging season.
