Panthers Activate Wide Receiver from Injured Reserve
The Carolina Panthers have officially brought veteran wide receiver Adam Thielen back from injured reserve, the team announced on Tuesday. This move came on the final day of Thielen’s 21-day practice window, which began on October 23. Had the Panthers not activated him, Thielen would have been ineligible to play for the rest of the season.
Thielen, 34, has been sidelined for the past seven games due to a hamstring injury sustained during a standout play in the Panthers’ 36-22 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders on September 22. The injury occurred while Thielen was making an impressive 31-yard touchdown catch, showcasing the skill and reliability he has been known for throughout his career.
In his first season with the Panthers, Thielen has made an impact despite his limited time on the field. Over three games, all of which he started, the seasoned wideout recorded eight receptions for 109 yards and one touchdown. His veteran presence and experience have been valuable additions to a young Panthers team looking for leadership and consistency on offense.
Before joining Carolina, Thielen had a successful tenure with the Minnesota Vikings, where he played from 2014 to 2022. During his time in Minnesota, he established himself as one of the league’s most dependable receivers, earning two Pro Bowl selections and becoming a key figure in the Vikings’ offense.
Thielen’s return comes at a crucial time for the Panthers, who have been seeking stability in their receiving corps. As a seasoned professional, Thielen has the ability to contribute immediately and provide a boost to Carolina’s struggling offense. His ability to create separation, make contested catches, and serve as a reliable target could help the team as they navigate the remainder of the season.
With Thielen back on the active roster, the Panthers will look to maximize his impact and reintegrate him into their offensive game plan. His return not only strengthens the team’s receiving options but also gives the Panthers a veteran leader as they push through the final stretch of the season.
