Boom! Ole Miss Lands , Flipping Him from LSU
In a significant recruiting win, Ole Miss has secured a commitment from four-star offensive lineman Devin Harper, who flipped from LSU. Harper, a standout prospect from Calvary Baptist in Shreveport, Louisiana, is one of the nation’s top interior offensive linemen. His decision to join the Rebels came shortly after LSU’s 26-17 upset loss to Florida in Gainesville on Saturday.
Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 305 pounds, Harper is ranked as the No. 6 interior offensive lineman nationally and the No. 3 prospect in Louisiana’s 2025 class according to the 247Sports Composite. Nationally, he holds the No. 93 spot in the composite rankings, while the 247Sports exclusive rankings place him as the No. 7 interior offensive lineman and No. 123 overall in the Top247. Harper had been committed to LSU since January but has now decided to align his future with Ole Miss.
Recent reports indicate Harper was drawn to Ole Miss in part due to the efforts of offensive line coach John Garrison, who led the charge in his recruitment. Earlier this week, Ole Miss insiders predicted Harper’s flip through a Crystal Ball projection. His commitment marks a significant addition to the Rebels’ recruiting class, making him the highest-rated offensive lineman to commit to Ole Miss since Greg Little in 2016.
This week has been especially productive for the Rebels, as Harper becomes the second player to flip to Ole Miss from another SEC program. Earlier, five-star wide receiver Caleb Cunningham decommitted from Alabama to join the Rebels.
Scouting Report
Harper is a physical, versatile offensive lineman who could excel at either interior or exterior roles. With 34+ inch arms, he has the tools necessary to succeed in either position. Known for his powerful blocking, Harper brings a tone-setting presence to the line, though there is room to refine his hand placement and technical skills. His improved balance and body control from his sophomore to junior seasons demonstrate his potential for further growth. A Power Five-caliber player, Harper projects as a multi-year starter with the ability to develop into a legitimate NFL Draft prospect.
Harper’s flip underscores the growing momentum of Ole Miss’ recruiting efforts under Lane Kiffin.
