Danny Coulombe, fresh off the two best seasons of his career, is mow an unrestricted free agent and looking for a new contract.

The 35-year-old Coulombe bounced between the major leagues and minor levels for most of his early career. In 2014, he made his Major League Baseball debut with the Los Angeles Dodgers. After that, Coulombe moved to Oakland, where he played for the Oakland Athletics for the following five years. He had a stellar season in 2017 with the Athletics, playing in 72 games and recording a 3.48 ERA. Following Oakland, Coulombe made his way to the minor league system of the New York Yankees before joining the Minnesota Twins, where he played in 41 games over the course of three seasons. Coulombe joined the MLB roster right away after being traded to the Baltimore Orioles just before the 2023 season began. Coulombe spent two seasons with Baltimore.

Coulombe became a shutdown reliever and was a key part of the team’s back-to-back postseason appearances.

However, after the 2024 season, Coulombe was not tendered by the Orioles. He is currently searching for a spot to offer his skills as a free agent. Danny Coulombe was great in Baltimore. Whenever the Orioles needed him, the soft-throwing lefty was always there to step up and was incredibly dependable. Coulombe concluded 2023 with a 2.81 ERA after pitching in 61 games. He just had a 1.110 WHIP and struck out 58 batters while walking only 12. Coulombe played in 33 games in 2024 despite missing a significant portion of the season due to an elbow ailment. Coulombe had a pitiful 0.674 WHIP and a 2.12 ERA in those appearances.
