The Stadium of Light is set to host the clash between Sunderland and Norwich City this Saturday afternoon. David Prutton, an EFL pundit from Sky Sports, predicts that Sunderland will break their recent streak of poor performances by defeating Norwich City with a score of 2-1.
Sunderland, under the leadership of Tony Mowbray, enters the match on the heels of three consecutive losses in the Championship. They suffered a 4-0 defeat at home against Middlesbrough and lost 2-1 and 1-0 in their away matches against Stoke City and Leicester City, respectively. As a result, Sunderland has dropped out of the playoff positions and currently sits in 10th place in the Championship standings. They are eager to halt this slide and reinvigorate their pursuit of promotion.
Prutton believes that the upcoming match against David Wagner’s Norwich City, who have not won any of their last four matches and have conceded the most goals of any Championship team this season, presents a great opportunity for Sunderland to turn things around. Prutton mentioned, “Sunderland has faced some challenges in recent weeks, which is not uncommon in this league, especially with a relatively young team. They are also struggling to find a reliable goal scorer, with Jack Clarke being the only one contributing. On the other hand, Norwich has been a source of goals this season, ranking only behind the top two in terms of scoring, but they have also conceded the most. This game is likely to be open, but I predict a narrow victory for Sunderland.”
