Nottingham Forest is reportedly planning to prevent one of their players from leaving in January, and interested clubs are likely to approach the Reds about this.
Earlier this week, Greek reports highlighted the struggles of Nottingham Forest midfielder Gustavo Scarpa during his loan spell at Olympiacos. It was suggested that a return to Brazil might be a better fit for him since he seemed to have difficulty adapting to European football.
Today, journalist Jorge Nicola discussed the situation involving the Nottingham Forest player and the prospects of him returning to South America. It’s been mentioned that due to Scarpa’s difficulties, Brazilian clubs are expected to reach out to Nottingham Forest and Olympiacos regarding a potential January transfer.
However, it appears that such a move is unlikely to materialize. Nicola reports that individuals close to the player have informed him that Scarpa is set to remain in Greece at least until the end of the season.
Nottingham Forest is making efforts to help Scarpa adapt to English football for the long term and is not keen on sending him on loan to Brazil at this stage.
Scarpa’s contract with Nottingham Forest is valid until 2026, suggesting that this situation may just be the beginning of an ongoing story.
