Breaking news: Another Former Ravens star nominted for Hall of Fame

Former Ravens wide receiver Anquan Boldin, who was among the 173 modern-era players nominated for the Pro Football Hall of Fame last month, will soon discover if he’s made the cut for a second consecutive year, this time as one of the 25 semifinalists for the Class of 2024. However, Boldin maintains that he doesn’t dwell on the possibility of being enshrined in Canton, Ohio, saying, “My dad always taught me if you have to tell somebody how good you were, you probably weren’t very good.”

He prefers to let his on-field performance speak for itself. Boldin had a remarkable 14-year NFL career, including three seasons with the Ravens, during which he secured a Super Bowl title. His career statistics are impressive, with 13,779 receiving yards (ranked 14th all-time) and 1,076 catches (ninth in league history). He also set records for the fastest player to reach certain reception milestones.

Nonetheless, the Hall of Fame debate will likely consider other factors. Boldin didn’t frequently finish in the top 10 in catches and receiving yards during NFL seasons, never leading the league in either category or earning All-Pro status. He also didn’t have sustained dominance, with fluctuations in his reception numbers.

Despite these factors, his contributions to the Ravens’ Super Bowl victory in the 2012 season are indisputable. Boldin made a significant impact during the playoffs, playing a crucial role in the team’s success. He remains fond of his time in Baltimore, considering it a “mission accomplished.”

Regarding the current Ravens team, Boldin believes they are still discovering their identity and potential under a new offensive coordinator. He thinks they have the talent and will eventually find their groove.

As for his potential Hall of Fame induction, Boldin views it as a significant honor but hasn’t actively focused on it, as he already achieved his primary goal of winning a Super Bowl. Being enshrined in the Hall of Fame would be “icing on the cake” for him.
