Gabby Agbonlahor predicts what the score will be between Wolves or Newcastle

Gabby Agbonlahor has issued a warning to Newcastle United ahead of their upcoming match against Wolverhampton Wanderers. The Magpies are seeking a strong response following their midweek Champions League defeat as they prepare to face Wolves in the Premier League’s Saturday evening kickoff.

This game is expected to be a challenging one for Eddie Howe’s team, which is dealing with a number of injuries heading into the fixture. Key players like Alexander Isak, Sven Botman, Jacob Murphy, and Elliot Anderson are likely to be unavailable. However, there is optimism that Sandro Tonali may still be able to play despite an impending suspension.

Newcastle is facing the game at Molineux with a somewhat depleted squad, and they are up against a Wolves side that has quietly impressed this season. Gary O’Neil has done an excellent job in a short period, instilling confidence that his team can achieve a positive result against the Magpies.

In contrast, Eddie Howe recognizes that if his Newcastle squad performs at their best, they can compete with any team in the Premier League. The question is whether they will deliver their best against Wolves. Agbonlahor believes they will.

Newcastle United v Wolverhampton Wanderers - Premier League

According to Agbonlahor, Newcastle will win 2-1 against Wolves. However, he also suggests that the Magpies could face difficulties if they are not at their best on Saturday evening.

“It’s a tricky game for Newcastle,” Agbonlahor stated. “Wolves have shown a lot of fighting spirit, even if they aren’t winning as many games as they should. They showed fight against Villa and managed to win at home against Man City. So, if Newcastle isn’t on top of their game, they could struggle. But with the quality that Newcastle possesses, with players in form like Wilson, Isak, Gordon, and Guimaraes, I think they’ll have the edge over Wolves. So, I’m predicting a 2-1 victory for Newcastle.”

Newcastle faces a tough challenge after their Champions League exertions. While they’ve performed reasonably well in games following European matches, this will be their first game after a European loss. Howe is looking for a strong response, and the task is even tougher as they play at the formidable ground of Molineux. Wolves have demonstrated their capability for something special at home this season, including a victory over Manchester City in September.

Adding to the challenge, Newcastle has not won a Premier League game at Molineux since October 2011, during Alan Pardew’s tenure, with Demba Ba and Jonas Gutierrez scoring in a 2-1 win for the Magpies. Agbonlahor believes that Newcastle will achieve a similar result 12 years later, and he hopes his prediction proves accurate.
