Gary O’Neil provided an update on winger Pedro Neto’s injury status after he clutched his hamstring during the match against Newcastle. The game at Molineux stadium ended in a 2-2 draw, with Wolves coming back to equalize twice.
Wolves are currently on a five-game unbeaten streak in the league and occupy the 12th position in the table. Despite Newcastle being heavy favorites, they took the lead when Callum Wilson scored with an acrobatic effort. Mario Lemina pulled one back for Wolves before Wilson notched his second from the penalty spot. Hwang Hee-chan later equalized after an assist from Neto.
Regrettably, Neto couldn’t finish the game due to a hamstring injury. Gary O’Neil, in his post-game press conference, shed some light on Neto’s injury status, saying, “He’s moving around. Obviously, hamstring injuries vary in severity, so we’re hopeful it’s a minor one. Hodgey (Joe Hodge) had a similar injury in a cup game and didn’t stay out for long, so we’re optimistic that Pedro’s absence won’t be prolonged. He’s been a crucial part of our recent performances, but regardless of how long he’s sidelined, the team is prepared to continue delivering strong performances and collecting points.”
