Rik Elfrink has reported that Armel Bella-Kotchap will probably be out of commission for the next two months for PSV Eindhoven. The German center defender was injured during PSV’s match against Sparta Rotterdam, and he had shoulder surgery over the weekend.
On the day of the transfer deadline, Armel Bella-Kotchap came to PSV on loan from Southampton. The 21-year-old has played in five games for the current Eredivisie leaders so far and has enjoyed a respectable start to life in Eindhoven. Injury has stalled the young player’s progress, and PSV supporters may have to wait until next year to see him play again.
Mauro Júnior and Armando Obispo are making progress in their injury recoveries, which is good news for PSV. Peter Bosz will have more alternatives for defense moving ahead once they’re both fully recovered.
As of right now, PSV leads the Eredivisie table after defeating Ajax handily on Sunday. A 5-2 victory that saw a hat-trick from Hirving Lozano knocked Ajax to the bottom of the standings. Bosz and his team will be motivated to continue their amazing run after winning ten of their first ten games.
