David Seaman suggests Wolves should repeat Arsenal trick to ‘really help’ fantastic star

David Seaman believes that loaning away Wolves forward Fabio Silva is a smart move, citing the growth of William Saliba at Arsenal as an example.

Following Saturday night’s 2-2 draw with Newcastle United, Wolves were discussed on the Seaman Says podcast.

Wolves’ Pedro Neto was injured during the game. The winger was sprinting towards goal when he collapsed holding his hamstring.

It was a terrifying sight to watch him leaving the field on a stretcher. However, given how serious some hamstring injuries may be, he may just be gone for a few weeks.

David Seaman suggests Fabio Silva going out on loan is a good thing

Silva spent last season on loan at Anderlecht before joining PSV Eindhoven in January. The Portuguese teenager had a great season, scoring 16 goals in total across two periods.

Silva returned to Wolves in the summer, and according to reports, sporting director Matt Hobbs was instrumental in making him feel valued.

Silva did receive a few chances at the start of the season. However, he has only played eight minutes throughout Wolves’ five-game unbeaten run in the Premier League.

Some have speculated that he would go out on loan again in January.

“The fact he’s going out on loan is good because he’s getting match day experience,” Seaman remarked of Silva’s loan. We saw that at Arsenal with Saliba. You wouldn’t believe it if the player who left Arsenal to go on loan returned looking like Saliba’s other twin who had been trained with Beckenbauer or someone! It can be quite beneficial. But it is another level, another step forward.”

Fabio Silva January loan could be on the cards if things don’t change

Silva hasn’t played much for Wolves in the last month or so.

Gary O’Neil threw down the gauntlet to him at the end of September, saying he needed to work ‘very hard’. However, regular minutes have not been provided.

Silva currently trails Matheus Cunha in the pecking order, and Sasa Kalajdzic appears to be O’Neil’s first choice off the bench.

If nothing changes, we could see Silva push for a loan move in January. Given what he stated during the summer, it doesn’t appear that he will sit back and accept his present level of involvement.

Hopefully, it will be a loan rather than a permanent sale.

The development of Arsenal’s £27 million ‘Rolls-Royce’ Saliba has been incredible to watch, and many Wolves fans would like to see Silva follow in his footsteps.
