Saudi PIF sanction January deals as Toon eye Al-Hilal and Al-Ahli stars

According to TEAMtalk, PIF has “made it clear” that they would be open to facilitating transactions in January between Saudi Pro League teams and Newcastle.

With Sandro Tonali suspended for the next ten months, Newcastle is currently searching for a temporary replacement, preferably on loan.

According to reports , Ruben Neves and the gifted Spaniard Gabri Veiga are “highly thought of” at St. James’ Park. PIF owns the majority of the shares in Al-Ittihad, Al-Nassr, Al-Ahli, and Al-Hilal in addition to Newcastle.

After a surprise summer transfer from Celta Vigo, Veiga currently plays alongside Allan Saint-Maximin at Al-Ahli, while Neves completed a free agency move from Wolves to Al-Hilal at the end of the 2022–2023 season.

If we were to deal with clubs that are owned by the same person, it would undoubtedly cause a great deal of controversy throughout the league. However, from a football perspective, if Veiga or Neves were available on loan, they would be excellent additions to the squad.

Given the strong connection between Kalvin Phillips of Man City and Newcastle, it is still unclear if the latter are willing to investigate this possibility in January. However, if PIF are willing to proceed, it appears that the door may be open.
