‘Huge boost’- Newcastle United confirm fresh injury boost as fantastic trio are now ruled out ahead of Arsenal clash

Arsenal’s preparations for their upcoming Premier League match against Newcastle United have taken a significant hit due to a series of injuries. In addition to Gabriel Jesus and Thomas Partey already being sidelined, manager Mikel Arteta has revealed that Emile Smith-Rowe is also set to be out of action for several weeks. The 23-year-old was initially expected to feature in the recent Carabao Cup game against West Ham United, but an injury to his knee has forced him to the sidelines, leaving Arteta with a depleted squad. Arteta had previously ruled out Gabriel Jesus and Thomas Partey for the Newcastle clash as well. Jesus had sustained a hamstring injury during a match in Sevilla and is currently in a state of uncertainty regarding his return. Partey, on the other hand, has had limited appearances this season due to a muscle injury, and the exact duration of his absence remains uncertain, pending further medical evaluations.

Arteta expressed concern about the absence of these key players, emphasizing Partey’s significant impact on the team’s performance when he’s fit and available. He also acknowledged the team’s efforts to provide better injury protection this season, given their experiences in the past.

Newcastle United is facing its own injury challenges, with nine first-team players expected to be unavailable for the upcoming match, including Sandro Tonali, Alexander Isak, Jacob Murphy, Elliot Anderson, Sven Botman, Harvey Barnes, Javier Manquillo, and Matt Targett. This situation adds to the uncertainties surrounding the upcoming match for both teams.
