After his effect on the first team this season, Asmir Begovic thinks Queens Park Rangers forward Sinclair Armstrong has all the tools to develop into a “top player.”
Sinclair Armstrong rises to prominence with QPR
The R’s have had an incredibly terrible start to the season; after just eight points from the first 12 games, Gareth Ainsworth’s team is in the relegation zone.
The one silver lining, meanwhile, has been Armstrong’s rise to prominence as a key member of the XI.
Despite making 22 games in the previous season, when he made his breakthrough, he was unable to establish himself as a starter. However, that has since altered as the 20-year-old has accepted the added duty.
Armstrong has to work on his final product, as evidenced by his return of just one goal, but his physicality and ability to lead the line add far more value to the squad.
Begovic, who told Sky Bet that the young player has the ability to play a significant role in the game, seems to have been impressed by him as well.
“Sinclair Armstrong is a physically gifted player with a lot of potential.” Sinclair is very talented and has the entire world at his disposal.
He has a great attitude and a strong desire to learn, so it really is up to him how successful he is. And he will get better the more games he plays, the more opportunities and trust he receives. Like any young athlete, that will simply take some time.
I’ve seen a lot of talented young players in the past, so it’s critical that we don’t place too much pressure or expectations on him right away and instead allow him to adjust to the situation. He will truly improve with time and eventually emerge as one of the best players.
Can Sinclair Armstrong really be that good?
First of all, despite the fact that Begovic has played at the greatest level throughout his career, these remarks will have a significant impact on the young player.
The Irish international has a lot of promise, so you can understand the keeper’s position as well.
He’s difficult to work with because of his physicality, but he really wants to learn and get better, which is what he has to accomplish.
Again, there are still certain things he can do better, but keep in mind that this is still a very young athlete. Even though the season hasn’t gone well overall, he will have benefited greatly from being exposed to the first team this year.
Next steps for QPR?
Everyone associated with QPR is solely focused on achieving success in order to quickly escape the relegation zone.
Armstrong will undoubtedly have a role in Ainsworth’s team’s rematch with West Brom this evening at The Hawthorns.
Although the match is challenging on paper, the R’s chief will be expecting a reaction following the heartbreaking loss to Huddersfield the previous time out.
