Burnley and other Premier League teams are apparently interested in Sunderland winger Jack Clarke, therefore the club is ready to offer him a new contract.
With nine goals and eleven assists in his incredible season at the Stadium of Light last year, the former England youth international helped the Black Cats make it back to the Championship playoffs.

As Sunderland attempts to advance to the Premier League, Clarke, 22, has maintained his strong play in the new season, generating eight net ripples in 13 Championship games.

The attacker scored six goals in September, including braces against Sheffield United and Blackburn Rovers, to win the second tier’s Player of the Month title.

The Sunderland Echo reports that Sunderland are determined to keep Clarke past the forthcoming January and summer transfer seasons and will intensify their efforts to do so.

According to the report, Tony Mowbray’s team is considering offering the Englishman new terms at the Stadium of Light in response to interest from several elite teams in hiring him as a winger.

Although there is no pressure on Sunderland to move Clarke anytime soon—his present contract in the North-East expires in the summer of 2026—it is known that the Black Cats want the player to pledge his long-term future to the group.

 

..The winger moved permanently from North London for £1 million in July 2022, having spent the second half of Sunderland’s 2021–22 promotion-winning season on loan from Tottenham Hotspur.

It’s thought that Burnley made many bids for Clarke, the highest of which was £10 million, after such a successful season for Mowbray’s team; however, all of the Clarets’ advances were turned down.

According to recent reports, Clarke is admired by Brentford, Crystal Palace, Brighton & Hove Albion, Bournemouth, and Wolverhampton Wanderers. This means that Vincent Kompany’s team will have fierce competition in their attempt to sign the attacker.

Although it is known that Sunderland want to receive at least £20 million from Clarke’s sale should he leave, the most recent information indicates that the Black Cats may attempt to retain Clarke by offering him a new contract.

Burnley moved on to other targets, such as Mike Tresor and Luca Koleosho, who could improve their prospects of surviving in the Premier League, after missing out on signing the 22-year-old in the summer.

Lyle Foster, a South African, has scored three of the Clarets’ seven goals in the top tier in the team’s first nine games. This is despite the arrival of several teenagers who are talented attackers.
