‘Huge blow’ Charlton Athletic comfirms injury as key star is now sidelined for 3 months

Panutche Camara, an Ipswich Town midfielder on loan, will miss a considerable amount of time due to a hamstring injury sustained against Charlton Athletic.

He was substituted after ten minutes in Tuesday night’s 3-2 Addicks victory over Wigan Athletic, and it has since been announced that he will miss three months of play.

Town loan watch: Camara in tears after suffering another injury

“There’s no point dressing it up because it’s not good,” Michael Appleton, head coach of Charlton, stated.

“It will be at least three months, and I am obviously sympathetic to Pan. He has put in a ton of effort to position himself to play, and his talent is evident.”

“He covers the ground very well and you could argue that he’s almost quicker with the ball than he is without the ball,”

Appleton continued: “He’s had issues in the past with his hamstring and he’s not had a great time of it with injuries over the last couple of years.”

Camara, who will play for the Addicks until the end of the season, has only made eight appearances since returning from a foot ailment he sustained in August.

After spending £500k to move from Plymouth Argyle to Portman Road, the 26-year-old had an injury-plagued season with only one start and three substitute appearances between two groin surgeries.

Although his Town contract is slated to expire at the end of the current campaign, the club has an option to extend it by one more year.
