Report: Real Madrid and Liverpool Duel for Inacio

European reports about Newcastle United and Sporting defender Goncalo Inacio are still circulating. According to AS, Real Madrid is reportedly vying with other Premier League teams for the center back’s signature in January in Spain.

Although A Bola says Newcastle is still in the running to sign the defender, Radio Renascença asserts that the Magpies won’t “go crazy” to get the Portuguese center-half. Although there was talk of Inacio moving to St. James’ Park in the summer, no formal approach was made.
Real Madrid appears to be Los Blancos’ primary target, according to A Bola, which is another reason why interest in Inacio is starting to heat up. After agreeing to a new deal that would last until the summer of 2027, the defender’s asking price is reportedly in the neighborhood of €60 million.

‘Premier League would not be able to put block on Newcastle and Saudi Arabian loans’

Kieran Maguire, a specialist in football finance, doesn’t think the Premier League could stop loans between Newcastle United and the league.

“Any loan agreement or transfer agreement worth more than £1 million can be assessed by the Premier League fair value panel under the current rules,” Maguire told Football Insider. “However, we’ve observed that Watford and Udinese have transacted with more than 20 organizations.

“They have executed more than 20 transactions between the two clubs and share shared ownership. In reference to those agreements, the Premier League took no action.

Newcastle is undoubtedly a more well-known example. However, I believe it’s difficult to see what the Premier League can do here; they are powerless to amend the rules absent a meeting of Premier League club executives.

“It seems to provide Newcastle with an opportunity to capitalize on their strong ties to PIF and the Saudi Pro League.”
