Sunderland Is Interested in Signing Two of the Top Players on Loan.

Although Sunderland will always remember signing players like Danny Welbeck and Danny Rose, they have since brought in some awful loan players.

Naturally, players like Declan John, Laurens De Bock, and Jake Vokins don’t make the list, but happily, Sunderland has also benefited from a number of highly successful loan arrivals.

Perhaps our most successful loanee over the past ten years is Amad Diallo.

The Ivorian, the newest player, had a rough beginning to his career on Wearside but, once he settled in, he was outstanding.

Amad was instrumental in leading the Black Cats to the playoffs in the Championship last season, scoring 14 goals and dishing out three assists. That he was awarded Player of the Year for Sunderland came as no surprise.

Ki made 34 games on loan from Swansea City, scoring four goals and dishing out three assists. He was a very tidy midfield player throughout that time.

Before the South Korean player sustained an injury and made his final appearance in April, practically disappearing, fans were excited to see him make the transfer permanent.

One more outstanding full-back loanee, and a superior one than Yedlin, was Marcos Alonso.

Even if the Spaniard wasn’t always the best on defense, he was a tremendous forward and contributed significantly to an incredible season under Gus Poyet.
