Lachie Schultz, the new Collingwood recruit, has explained his decision to leave Fremantle for Collingwood despite having a contract with the Dockers. As a native of Victoria, returning home to be with family and his partner Maddie was a compelling opportunity. He also expressed excitement about joining Collingwood, a club with a rich history and passionate fans. Schultz mentioned the memorable experience of Collingwood fans during a 2022 semi-final at the MCG, which further fueled his desire to join the club.
He plans to bring his unique playing style, known for its focus on pressure and defensive contributions, to the team’s forward line in 2024. Collingwood has made other changes during the player movement period, including the departure of Taylor Adams and Jack Ginnivan, and is now preparing for the National Draft.
