West Brom captain takes aim at ‘ridiculous’ Sheffield Wednesday situation

Jed Wallace, the captain of West Bromwich Albion, calls the events that have transpired at Sheffield Wednesday following their play-off victory “ridiculous.”
After hiring Danny Röhl as their third manager in as many months, the Owls have had a turbulent time of late. They currently sit bottom of the Championship with just one victory under their belt.

Wallace, who assisted the Baggies in defeating the Owls last month, was questioned about the circumstances on the BBC’s 72+ podcast, where there was a lot of discussion about off-field issues with owner Dejphon Chansiri.

The 29-year-old stated, “I believe that if you could have imagined a worse scenario from the time Josh Windass’ header was in, then it most likely happened. Just look at how they went up, that incredible turnaround in the play-offs.

“It all began with the firing of Darren Moore. Later, during the press conference introducing Xisco Munoz, he became very irrational, and Xisco was left wondering, ‘What’s going on?'” Then he left, and this new manager has arrived.

“At the moment, the fans are spending money to go across the nation every week to watch the team lose. It seems as though he is doing everyone a favor. In the end, it’s the responsibility that comes with owning a football team. It simply doesn’t improve the gamers’ experience or the atmosphere of the location overall. Even Marvin Johnson’s circumstances—what’s going on with him, for example?

What’s going on there is absurd; it looks like something from EastEnders! With the new, youthful manager, maybe, things will calm down now, but he needs stability.”

Saturday’s home match against Wallace’s old team, Millwall, will see Wednesday try to extend their winning streak at home and support their second-tier survival push.
