Carlos Corberan reveals key factor in West Brom’s impressive recent run

“A strong mentality is the key,” according to Carlos Corberan, explaining Albion’s recent outstanding point total.

A largely makeshift Baggies team has managed to collect 10 points out of a possible 12 in four matches during a stretch of five games sandwiched between two international breaks.

This Saturday, Corberan’s squad will face Southampton’s St. Mary’s Stadium, with fourth place taking on fifth place in the Championship, as Albion aims to secure their spot in the play-offs until the next international break.

Corberan attributed their recent success to the players’ tremendous effort and commitment, emphasizing the importance of a strong mentality this season. He emphasized that a strong mentality is the foundation for competing in games, and when combined with positive attacking and defensive strategies, it increases their chances of winning. He stressed that without the strong mentality the players are displaying, success is nearly impossible.

Corberan’s situation has been somewhat improved by the return to fitness of certain players, such as Jeremy Sarmiento and Semi Ajayi in the previous match. However, this positive development was offset by the loss of Kyle Bartley due to a shoulder injury.

Albion has made progress, but the other attackers aren’t expected back until after the next break.

“The most thing I am pleased with is the players’ behavior and effort being rewarded with three points,” Corberan continued.

“That’s the most crucial aspect of football; after that, there’s momentum and even more challenging momentum—unfortunately, we’ll move in both this year—but we must be resilient in both the tough and the good moments. That’s the reason I said having a strong mentality is essential to performing really well in the championship.
