Main Reason: Cifuentes backs 22 year Youngest Star after encouraging full debut for QPR

The only other QPR start for Dixon-Bonner was during the August Carabao Cup encounter against Norwich.

Despite this, he played the entire ninety minutes and nearly scored in Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Rotherham, having been selected ahead of Stephen Duke-McKenna due to the suspensions of Andre Dozzell and Jack Colback.

After arriving in west London on Tuesday, Cifuentes only attended two training sessions with his new team, but he was happy with how the 22-year-old performed with Sam Field.

“I am really happy with him,” Cifuentes declared.

“He is a talented midfield player, a player I refer to as an eight, who can play box-to-box.”

“He is adept with the ball and possesses defensive skills as well.

QPR FC | Elijah Dixon-Bonner joins QPR

After an encouraging full league debut, Elijah Dixon-Bonner, according to Marti Cifuentes, showed that he is a player the new QPR boss can rely on.

Even when the team’s other midfield players weren’t available, the former Liverpool player joined Rangers in October of last year and was mainly ignored by former manager Gareth Ainsworth.

He is technically intelligent, and I believe he has a lot of growth ahead of him. I am eager to learn more about him and explore ways to help him reach his full potential.

“I don’t want to consider the past; everyone is beginning from scratch.

“But it’s true that Dozzell and Colback, two crucial midfield players for us, were sidelined due to suspension, and Elijah has proven that we can rely on he is a player who will be useful to us later on.

Rangers immediately underwent a stylistic shift under Cifuentes, going for a far more advanced strategy than they had under Ainsworth.

Chris Willock entered the game as a starter, and Taylor Richards was added in the second half.
