ex-PL referee now send warning Message To big referee mistake during Wolves defeat

Referee Jones decided that Fabio Silva had fouled George Baldock, and at the last second, he gave United a penalty.

It was almost exactly the same as the previous weekend’s incident against Newcastle United that resulted in Hwang Hee-chan’s penalty.

Even though Baldock was about to go down, the penalty was given. Gary Lineker called the decision “stinking,” and VAR then upheld it, infuriating Wolves supporters for the second straight game.

Now that Gallagher has highlighted a crucial error made by Jones,

Dermot Gallagher, a former Premier League referee, feels Robert Jones was “too quick” to award a penalty against Wolves on Saturday.

Sheffield United defeated Wanderers 2-1, with the Blades earning their first victory of the year in a contentious manner.

Dermot Gallagher explains the mistakes Robert Jones made when he gave Wolves and Fabio Silva a penalty.

Silva’s “foul” against Baldock was covered earlier today on Sky Sports’ Ref Watch program, which examines contentious calls from the previous weekend.

It was inevitable that the team would investigate this situation.

Gallagher believed that Jones was simply too fast to point to the location and did not give himself enough time to truly process what he had witnessed.

“I believe the referee gave it too quickly,” he remarked. The world’s top players build time with the ball. The world’s greatest referees give players a brief period of time to reflect. Unfortunately for Rob Jones, there was no need to rush; I’m not sure if he wanted to get in quickly because he was just trying to make a decision. Had he given it another two seconds to observe what happened, he very likely would have chosen differently.

“Once it is delivered, the VAR cannot overturn it because there was some, if not all, physical contact. However, I think it should be left alone.

It seemed as though he was eager to hand it to Jones; everything happened extremely rapidly.

Referees will occasionally pause for a few seconds to allow themselves to process what they have just witnessed.

With Jones, there was no risk of that. There was an air about him that suggested he was eager to foul Silva. Maybe he was prompted to whistle by the loud assertions made by the assembly.

The unfortunate thing about this occurrence is that Jones is clearly visible when you play it back, standing approximately ten feet away with an unhindered view.

Even Baldock gets right back up on his feet, as Gallagher puts it. If Jones had simply waited, this might have prevented him from blowing.
