Newcastle’s situation is pretty dire as they have dropped to fourth place in Group F of this year’s Champions League competition following two consecutive losses.
However, TalkSPORT pundit Jason Cundy believes that Toon supporters can still be enthusiastic about their European destiny this season and has faith in Eddie Howe.

The players that were fit for Newcastle’s match against Dortmund didn’t play poorly; at the end, they just appeared worn out and uninspired. The squad is still fighting on four fronts, so even if they have already survived a demanding schedule, the fixture calendar won’t be getting any easier anytime soon.
After dominating PSG and holding AC Milan to a goalless draw at the San Siro, Newcastle has already shown that they can play with the best.
Despite the absence of a few players, Eddie Howe’s strategy and the caliber of the remaining team will be enough to keep Newcastle in this tournament.
Jason Cundy stated, “I still think Newcastle can go through,” following the game. Newcastle should be able to defeat Milan at home by traveling to PSG.
In all honesty, I fail to see any obstacle in their way of winning in Paris.
They’ll need to use more force than they did this evening. Eddie Howe went there in an attempt to restrict himself because it’s a dangerous location.
“It wouldn’t be disastrous if they lost to them in the Europa League, but at this point in time, you never know what can happen with the luck of the draw.”
Newcastle can get at PSG and Milan
Given their current standing, Newcastle will have a very difficult task to qualify, but PSG will be terrified of Newcastle following their ordeal at St. James’ Park a little more than a month ago.
The same is true for AC Milan, who will go to the Northeast for their last group match and may encounter an equally heated environment as the one they faced against the French champions.
With the exception of the Carabao Cup final, Newcastle has shown its best in the past couple of years when they have been underdogs and faced with overwhelming odds.
Eddie Howe and his team have repeatedly demonstrated that their success comes from people thinking they are merely there to pad the stats.
Perceiving Newcastle as an easy match is now the worst thing PSG and Milan can do. Howe will undoubtedly inform his team that, despite some people’s claims to the contrary, they are ready to give these last two games their all.
