Szomorú fejleményről számolt be a Ferencváros: a klub vezetősége megerősítette, hogy Barnabás Varga jelezte távozási szándékát, és célja, hogy legkésőbb január 1-jétől az Al-Hilal együtteséhez szerződjön. A magyar válogatott támadó állítólag új kihívásokat keres, és nyitott a szaúdi klub ajánlatára, amely jelentős szakmai és anyagi lehetőségeket kínál számára. A Ferencváros számára ez komoly veszteséget jelenthet, hiszen Varga kulcsszerepet tölt be a csapat támadójátékában, és távozása érzékenyen érintheti a klub további terveit.

Ferencváros overturned an early deficit to beat Rangers 2–1 at home in Thursday’s sixth Europa League league-phase match, clinching qualification for the knockout rounds and moving very close to a place in the round of 16.

The visitors went ahead through former Hungary-based forward Bojan Miovski, but FTC drew level before halftime thanks to Bence Ötvös. The comeback was completed after the break when Barnabás Varga headed home the winning goal.

With the victory, Robbie Keane’s side moved to 14 points from six matches, securing progression from the league phase. Ferencváros now sit sixth in the table, just one point behind leaders Lyon, Midtjylland and Aston Villa.

After the match, Keane praised both his starters and substitutes, stressing that his team controlled the game for long periods. The Irish coach highlighted the importance of equalizing before the interval and felt his side fully deserved the win, especially after dominating the second half despite operating with a significantly smaller budget than many of their rivals.
