Nottingham Forest confirmed now ‘in talks’ to sell another fantastic star

Nottingham Forest are in talks with Brazilian side Atletico Mineiro over the sale of midfielder Gustavo Scarpa less than 12 months after signing him.

The 29-year-old joined Steve Cooper’s side on a free from Palmeiras last January, with the Brazilian failing to nail down a consistent first-team place.

Scarpa in talks to return to Brazil

According to UOL in Brazil, the two sides have been in talks over a permanent transfer for Scarpa over the last few days.

The Reds are said to be open to selling the Brazilian after he failed to make a real impact in the Premier League under Cooper.

Scarpa struggled to adapt in Europe

Scarpa hasn’t made the impact he or Olympiacos would’ve hoped for, with the Brazilian’s loan potentially being cut short during January.

Right now, it’s impossible to imagine him not heading back to Brazil in the near future. It would seem highly unlikely that another European club will take him and heading back to his homeland looks realistic.

It’s sad to see that Scarpa is now struggling. He came to the club with real promise, but unfortunately for him, it just hasn’t worked out in Europe with the midfielder now expected to return to Brazil.
