In the Stoney and Jensen and Heather podcast, Campbell suggested, “It might be advisable to wear a diaper before some of these games.”
Campbell shares the same sentiment with his family before Lions games. Although his coaching style may be unconventional, he has earned the respect of the locker room, and the Lions fanbase has wholeheartedly embraced Campbell and his innovative mindset.
With an impressive 7-2 record at the start of the season, the Lions have transformed from one of the NFL’s weakest teams to one of the league’s best under Campbell’s coaching approach.
A notable example of his coaching style unfolded during a crucial moment against the Chargers. In a tied game late in the fourth quarter, the Lions had the option to kick a field goal and take the lead. However, Campbell opted for a fourth-down play, resulting in a first down and a more manageable field goal attempt as the clock expired.
Whether conforming to conventional wisdom or not, Campbell demonstrates a knack for winning football games.
