Deal Agreed: Just in Detroit Tigers confirmed the signing of another star

A utility player acquired by the Houston Astros before the 2023 season, Bligh Madris, has signed a minor league deal with the Detroit Tigers in the current offseason. Originally drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 9th round of the 2017 MLB Draft, Madris earned Rookie of the Year for the Pirates’ Triple-A affiliate in 2021. However, his transition to the MLB in 2022 was disappointing, with a slash line of .177/.244/.265 and limited production in 39 games.

Despite being claimed by the Tampa Bay Rays and later by the Detroit Tigers, Madris struggled in his second stint in the MLB, prompting his move to free agency and subsequent signing with the Tigers for the upcoming season.
