Lastest news: Nuggets confirmed injury boost as another star now unlikely to return during Nuggets’ road trip

Latest update: The Denver Nuggets have confirmed another setback on the injury front as star guard Jamal Murray is unlikely to make a return during the team’s ongoing road trip. Murray has been sidelined since sustaining a right hamstring injury on November 4 in a victory against the Chicago Bulls. This setback follows previous struggles with hamstring issues earlier in the season. Coach Michael Malone stated on Monday that Murray’s recovery is ongoing, and there is still work to be done for him to be medically cleared. In the seven games he played this season, the 26-year-old guard has been averaging 16.3 points and 7.4 assists.

Despite being unable to play, Murray has been traveling with the team and actively participating in discussions with teammates and coaches during games. Malone praised Murray’s engagement, emphasizing his commitment to supporting the team whether on the court or not. With the Nuggets relying on several young players currently, Murray’s impact extends beyond the court, especially in mentoring and guiding emerging talents like Jalen Pickett, Collin Gillespie, Julian Strawther, and Peyton Watson.

The Denver Nuggets, the reigning NBA champions with a current record of 10-4, managed to secure a 107-103 victory against the Detroit Pistons on Monday, bringing their record to 4-3 in Murray’s absence. As the team progresses through their road trip, with a 1-2 record so far, it appears that Murray’s return is not imminent. The road trip is set to conclude with games against Orlando and Houston before the Nuggets return home to face the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday.
