Cowboys, Seahawks both did something never done before in NFL

In recent years, Thursday Night Football matchups have often fallen short of providing fans with compelling contests. However, Week 13 kicked off with an exception, treating viewers to an exhilarating clash between the Seattle Seahawks and the Dallas Cowboys.

The game concluded with the Cowboys narrowly securing a hard-fought 41-35 victory over the Seahawks. Despite Seattle’s efforts to stage an upset, they were unable to seal the deal in the fourth quarter. With this win, the Cowboys advanced to a 9-3 record, firmly positioning themselves as serious contenders in the NFC. Meanwhile, the Seahawks’ playoff aspirations are teetering as they slipped to a 6-6 season record.

What made this Thursday Night Football encounter truly historic was a feat achieved by both teams—something never witnessed in NFL history. Both the Cowboys and the Seahawks amassed 125 or more yards in penalties, yet neither team had to punt throughout the entire game. This unprecedented occurrence added an extra layer of excitement to an already intense and high-scoring matchup, ensuring there was never a dull moment for fans.

Quarterback Dak Prescott played a pivotal role in the Cowboys’ success, showcasing his prowess by completing 29 of 41 pass attempts for 299 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions. Geno Smith, leading the Seahawks, put up a commendable performance with 334 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception.

Looking ahead, the Cowboys are set to face the Philadelphia Eagles in a Sunday Night Football showdown during Week 14. This upcoming game serves as a significant test for Dallas to prove their legitimacy as Super Bowl contenders.

On the flip side, the Seahawks find themselves in dire need of a rebound victory as they approach Week 14, where they are scheduled to take on the San Francisco 49ers. Despite the anticipated difficulty of the matchup, securing a win becomes imperative for the Seahawks to revive their playoff hopes and regain momentum in the season.
