Amanda Staveley remarked on victories for both the Newcastle United men’s and women’s teams. Newcastle United had a successful weekend, with both the men’s and women’s teams winning 1-0.
On Saturday night, Eddie Howe’s side defeated Manchester United for the sixth time in a row at St James’ Park, with Anthony Gordon’s 55th-minute goal propelling the Magpies to sixth place in the Premier League rankings. Newcastle also won three straight games against Manchester United for the first time since 1922.
Becky Langley’s Lasses welcomed West Bromwich Albion to Kingston Park less than 24 hours later, and Becky Ferguson’s late winner kept the Lady Magpies unblemished in the FA Women’s National League Northern Premier Division. Both teams’ efforts have not gone unnoticed, as co-owner Amanda Staveley announced on social media
