Lewis Dobbin scored his first Premier League goal in Everton’s 3-0 victory over Chelsea on Sunday (11 December).
The Toffees have now won three games in a succession, a feat they have accomplished for the first time since 2021. After a scoreless first half, Abdoulaye Doucoure scored for the Toffees in the 54th minute.
Dobbin then won the game in extra time with a spectacular finish. After the game, the 20-year-old took to Instagram and posted, “Dreams Really Do Come True.”
Many Everton players have written him messages, but Dobbin will be overjoyed to see England and Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham leave him a message as well.
Bellingham wrote: “Congrats bro.”
Terrific performance
Everton now have a four-point lead over 17th-placed Luton Town, who were defeated 2-1 by Manchester City. Everton have now won five and drawn one of their previous seven Premier League games, and one cannot help but applaud Sean Dyche’s work at the club.
If the Toffees had not been deducted 10 points, they would have been in the top half of the standings by now.
Doucoure has now scored twice in a succession, but Dyche will be satisfied with the entire performance. Dwight McNeil and Dominic Calvert-Lewin came close to scoring during the game, but James Tarkowski and Jarrod Bowen have been outstanding.
Everton now leads 17th-placed Luton Town by four points after Manchester City defeated them 2-1. Everton have now won five and drawn one of their last seven Premier League games, and one can only appreciate Sean Dyche’s efforts at the club.
If the Toffees hadn’t been docked 10 points, they’d be in the top half of the table by now.
