Mohammed Abu Fani: “I’m happy I could help the team with three assists—but it was a collective victory.”

Ferencváros got off to a winning start in the Hungarian league with a thrilling 5–3 victory over Fehérvár, and one of the standout performers was new signing Mohammed Abu Fani, who provided three assists in just eight minutes. The Israeli midfielder spoke after the match about his debut, his role in the win, and how he’s settling in at his new club.

– This was your first league match in Hungary. How did it feel to be out there?

It was a tough game, but I think we played well. I’m really happy we could start the season with a win—it means a lot.

– You gave three assists in eight minutes. How do you rate your own performance?

I’m satisfied, especially with the assists. That’s the best way I can help the team—by creating chances. But this was a team victory. We believed in ourselves, and that belief helped us earn the three points.

– You’ve only been here for a few weeks. Have you found your place in the squad?

Absolutely. The chemistry between the players is excellent, and this is a fantastic group to be part of. From the very first day, everyone has helped me settle in. I feel very welcome, and I’m grateful for that.

– The team has now won three games in a row. What’s been the key to this form?

I think we just needed time to get to know each other, both on and off the field. Success only comes when there’s unity within the team and when everyone gives 100%. I think we’ve found the right path—but we need to keep working hard to stay on it.
