BREAKING NEWS: The Angels Makes Another Major Announcement Involving Ron Washington

The Los Angeles Angels provided an update on manager Ron Washington on Friday, announcing that he will not return to manage the team for the remainder of the season. Bench coach Ray Montgomery, who has been serving as interim manager during Washington’s medical leave, will continue in that role moving forward.

Washington was placed on medical leave last week due to an undisclosed health issue. While details remain limited, Angels general manager Perry Minasian offered a bit of optimism, describing the recent health update they received on Washington as “fortunate.”

Although Washington won’t return to the dugout this year, the positive developments regarding his condition suggest encouraging signs for his long-term well-being.

Ron Washington, 73, was in his second season managing the Los Angeles Angels.

A former MLB player, Washington has been a coach at the big-league level since 1996. He previously managed the Texas Rangers from 2007 to 2014, leading them to back-to-back World Series appearances in 2010 and 2011.
