BREAKING NEWS: The Cardinals Makes Another Stunning Announcement Involving Travis Honeyman

The Cardinals have advanced one of their top outfield prospects, Travis Honeyman, to High-A Peoria this week following his impressive performance for Low-A Palm Beach coming out of Spring Training.

Travis Honeyman is set to make his High-A debut after recent promotion

St. Louis has promoted outfield prospect Travis Honeyman to High-A Peoria after a strong start to the season at Low-A Palm Beach. Drafted in the third round in 2023, Honeyman posted an impressive .321/.446/.443 slash line over 29 games, adding 5 doubles, a triple, 2 home runs, 8 RBIs, 7 stolen bases, and 20 walks. The move comes as a natural next step for the former Boston College standout, who was two years older than most players at the Low-A level.

Starting the year cautiously at Palm Beach made sense, as Honeyman was coming off a 2023 season limited to just 20 games due to shoulder injuries that required surgery. Despite the shortened season, he hit .342/.415/.493 across the FCL and Palm Beach before being sidelined.

This year, the 23-year-old has primarily patrolled center field, appearing in 26 games there and 2 more in left without committing an error in over 223 innings. He’s expected to rotate around the outfield alongside fellow prospect Zach Levenson.

Honeyman made his High-A debut on Tuesday night, going 1-for-3 with a walk. Unfortunately, he exited Wednesday’s game after appearing to injure his calf while running to first base. The extent of the injury is still unknown, but Honeyman remains a player to keep an eye on once he returns to the lineup.
